shopping on sunday
I went shopping today. Strange experience. Everything is fake but they pretend it is realy 'armani' or 'polo' and stuff like that. I needed a warm jacket and it was offered for 120 Euro - in the end I paid 30 Euro. The guys try everything to make it more expensive. This jacket is long, it has a lot of pockets - bla bla bla. I also bought some shoes and the girl pretended it is real leather. So I wanted to take a lighter to make sure the boots don't burn. She did not like the idea :-) ...

Marion
I wanted to buy chopsticks in shanghai. I went looking, and of course in the first shop they wanted to sell them to me - in a very aggressive way:
shop assistant: "do you like them?"
me: "Yes, but I just started looking."
s.a.: "500 yuan"
me: "no, thanks, I'm just looking"
s.a.: "ok, special rebate (gets a calculator): 370"
me: "no, thanks"
s.a.: "ok, how much do you want to pay?"
me: "I don't want to pay, I'm just looking"
s.a.: "how much do you want to pay? 350?"
me: "I don't want to buy them, I'm just looking."
s.a.: "You don't like it? 300."
me: "No, thanks"
s.a.: "You don't like my shop. 250."
me: "I like your shop, but I want to see what others have to offer. Then I come back."
s.a.: "200"
me: I'm turning around, ready to leave...
s.a.: "150!... 100!... 50!"
I omitted parts of the discussion but you see where it was headed. Of course I didn't buy them, not even for 50. Since it was the first shop I didn't know how *good* chopsticks look like. These weren't worth more than 5 yuan...
